The Truth About Success!
(The Lies We Have Been Told)

How do you define success?
In the book written by Og Mandino “The Greatest Salesman in the World” He writes “Which two among a thousand Wise men can define success in the same manner? But failure can be defined only one way; by a persons inability to accomplish their goals in life whatever they may be”.

Read any book written by the gurus of success today and they will always teach we must start with a goal! That is true but what if that goal does not get you where you really want to go? What if at the end you find yourself empty or trapped by the very thing that you sought after? What if you spent many hours, years or worse a whole life time chasing after something to find it was a waste of life?

In the book written by Stephen Covey, “The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People”, he writes that people could be climbing the Ladder of Success to find out that they are up against the wrong wall! What if you spent your entire life going after the wrong things and find out you were wrong?

Book after book in the Success Arena tell you; you must be willing to pay the price and so many have! What was the price? Broken marriages, families, relationships, mental breakdowns or physical break downs through sicknesses or diseases! In addition, they have addictions to alcohol, drugs, power, success, material things, etc. What a great reward! What a pay off! Trapped by the very thing we gave up so much for- Success!

Have you lost your identity in what you own, wear or do?

Do you know who you truly were supposed to be?
We are brought up in a society that teaches in school that those who get A’s are better than those who get B’s and C’s etc. In College the goal is 4.0 and so on! A Masters Degree is better than an Associates Degree, a Doctorate is better than a Masters, etc. The title of the job determines your success; the stuff you own shows your success! Says Who? How much money you have, the home you live in, the clothes you wear! We are told to dress for success! Who decided which clothes are successful clothes? Is it the people on Madison Ave who design or make clothing to sell you? What if we have the most expensive clothing, homes, cars, investments, cash flow, travel in what seems the upper class groups but inside we are in fear of being found out to be something different than our outward appearance?

Do I sound anti success? I am not! But what is success? Who really determines Success? Which wall should we be climbing? What’s at the top? What is the reward for paying the price? What if I end up like the greyhound dog that catches the electric rabbit? What if I find out that what I have been running after isn’t real; or did not give me the satisfaction that I was seeking?

Checking Our Motives Reveals What We Really Want and Why!
What is it you want? What is your underlying motivation for success?
 Power
 Security
 Identity
 Independence
 Pride
 Social Status
 Freedom
 Winning
 Helping Others
 Serving Others
 Greed
 Competing
 Fear

Many times the very things that we deep down are trying to fulfill can not begin to satisfy us by success; because there might be a psychological or a spiritual need that achievement can’t fulfill.

People selling you their Programs on Success!

First of all, who are these people who you are following? People who have found success in accomplishing worthless goals? What did they accomplish over all? Are they healthy in body in the later years? How many marriages or relationship have they had, are their children successful (secure)? Are they at peace or are they stressed trying to climb the next mountain or worse are they totally stressed trying to maintain what they now have. Are they in fear of losing the very thing they were told was worth the price?

Come on let’s smarten up and see the truth! Most of the people who are selling success are selling it so they can become more successful financially at your expense.

Oops was I supposed to say that?

What if even those who truly are trying to help people are themselves deceived? What if I told you that you and many of them have been lied to? By whom you may ask? I am glad you asked! The Father of lies! Who??
Before I get too deep; let me remind you of a story told by Walt Disney called Pinocchio; Well not the whole story! If you ever saw the movie little Pinocchio was trying to please his father by going to school but on the way he ran into a Weasel and a Cat (I think, it’s been a while) that conned him into going with them and they sold him to a Circus because of his uniqueness as a live boy made of wood. Jiminy Cricket (his conscience/H.S.) helped him out of the jam. Pinocchio comes home and tells his dad that he is going to be a good boy and will go to school for sure this time but on the way again gets deceived and goes to pleasure Island instead! Everything a boy would want to do or have during those times was available to fulfill their pleasures! But what happened? The boys were turning into Jackasses! They no longer were able to be who they really were but instead were sold as Jackasses (slaves) to be used by their new owners.

Are you getting the message? We are being made into human jackasses by a masterful enemy so corrupt and deceitful that slowly but surely will steal your true identity. The real you! The true person that you want to be but might not know how or believe in anymore!

Peace = a piece of True Success!

What are we really looking for? Purpose! Learning who we truly are! Who am I really? Am I meant to be a businessperson, actor, entertainer, lawyer, doctor, janitor, teacher, pilot, baker, shoemaker, etc? What good is being something that eventually will make you sick in the later years or even now? If we put constant stress (fear) on our minds it will break into a sickness or a disease. (I will explain in more detail later if you do not already know this). That is part of becoming a jackass! Giving up years of your life for something that does not truly satisfy; is that really smart?

Security = a piece of True Success!

Many are chasing material gain to find security, only to find that getting there has a bigger price than they thought! Giving up their peace can make them sick but the security in things that can be taken away over night by a bad economy, a war; sickness, etc. are not true security. But what if you could find out who you are; and what you should be doing and finally became successful being the True You? Having confidence in who you are and being successful at being you brings a sense of security that no material things can replace.
Are you saying I can’t have lots of nice stuff?

No, not at all! What if I told you that when you have found out who you are and being successful being You could bring to you financial success, material things and peace too?

Why? What’s My Motive?


For the first time in my 60+ years of life I have personally found true peace. I have been financially successful, owned businesses, even taught others the same lies that I was sold on by others, traveled, owned boats, expensive cars and all the fixin’s but was totally not at peace. I thought that achieving goals would help me find that elusive peace. Oh yes, there were temporary highs related to achievements but there were losses by having to pay the price that cost me physically, relationally with my own family, friends, and associates.

This place of peace that I am at now enjoying is something my wife of over 40 years has had since she was 7 years old! I envied her for many years; it was the major things that drew me to her in marriage and the many young men who sought after her during our school years and after. The thing that made her stand out was peace, knowing who she was and was loving life; she still does! Everyone who met or knew her loved her because she loved them first. It took me over 40 years to find the same peace and rest; I can teach you in less than 40 minutes. If you are sincerely interested!

I believe that like me there are many who would like to know the truth! What this thing between life and death we call life is truly all about! What’s in it for me? The more I help others find the same thing; I get more of it! To watch others find freedom is a high that money can not buy!
